Timezone: Central
Current Characters in Victory Road: JW (Original Character)
Character
Name: Lawrence Beetlejuice (fandom assumes Shoggoth as a last name due to previous script stuff but I'm fine dropping it if that's too headcannony)
Series: Beetlejuice: The Musical The Musical The Musical
Timeline: Act I, in between "Fright of Their Lives" and "Say My Name" after he's shoved off the roof
Canon Resource Links: https://beetlejuice.fandom.com/wiki/Beetlejuice:_The_Musical_The_Musical_The_Musical
Personality:
NOTE: I play Beetlejuice as portrayed by Will Blum. Most of the lines are the same, but the delivery is different.
Peoples' first encounter with Beetlejuice is rarely their favorite. Being a demon, he's got little interest in the well-being or feelings of the living, so he generally does whatever he pleases. He sees them as both subjects to terrorize but also a huge burden because the living always seem to make things difficult for the dead. Boundaries aren't really a thing for Beetlejuice, physical or emotional. Touching, poking, prodding, sniffing, he does it all. It's in your best interests to keep your fingers away from his mouth. He treats the subjects of sex, death, drugs, and murder very flippantly due to both his age and status and if he sees an opportunity for an effective threat, pun or a gag, he's going to take it. As a demon, it's established he's never been alive in the first place, so empathy is not his highest stat.
Beetlejuice is a free agent of chaos. He doesn't hassle the living out of hate or for revenge, he just loves doing it. Human fears are fascinating to him and he finds scream downright musical. He loves causing a scene. He loves attention. He still counts negative attention as attention and it becomes evident very quickly with how far he'll go to get a rise out of someone.
Emotionally, he's a little stunted. He's very reactive when he doesn't get his way, has shit object permanence, and extreme separation anxiety. As a dead person, feelings don't really work the same way as they do for the living. His existence is usually marked by an undercurrent of frustration and, at his worse points, pure unbridled rage. And petulance. A lot of petulance.
When we're introduced to him in the musical, he explains that he's been in complete isolation on Earth for an undetermined number of years--unable to be heard by or interact with living people. Scaring the living and teaching others how to do so used to be his main passion and perhaps that was what got him banished in the first place. Ghosts are supposed to go to the Netherworld, not stick around on earth. When you spend so much time alone, you develop a lot of weird tactics to keep yourself busy and entertained. He people-watches in the worst possible way, talks to himself out loud almost constantly, and takes little care of his physical appearance. In the brief time he has a handful of people to interact with, Beetlejuice is all over the place. He's the dog that finally caught the car that he's been chasing. He wants to be best friends and he also wants to bang. He sells himself as the perfect man for the job while also groveling on his knees.
A new habit Beetlejuice has discovered upon finally having people to talk to again is his tendency to overshare about his past troubles. He is not a fan of it and while more than happy to gloat and boast, the second he realizes that he's talking about how his Mommy lever loved him, he reins it back in real quick and pretends it didn't happen.
He's very creative when it comes to his illusions and a fairly accomplished schemer. Once Beetlejuice decides he wants something, it's hard to take his mind off it. The long game is not his style. Beetlejuice is prone to getting bored quickly and bulldozing the whole situation with raw power rather than finesse or skill. He's very manic, right down to his sudden and jerky movements. There's always something to look at, there's always some opportunity to be taken. It clashes loudly with the otherwise flamboyant and cool-cat persona he puts on.
Beetlejuice is very lively for a dead guy.

RP Sample: Beetlejuice at Ryslig Pride a few Months Ago Where He Is Given a Very Cursed Shirt.
Victory Road Sample:
[The feed opens on Beetlejuice. He is seated in a plush, high-backed chair in front of a fake fireplace. He's swaddled in a green bath robe and holding a pipe in one hand. He addresses the viewer in a sophisticated accent.]
Ah, so glad you could join me. Tonight, we will be pondering the mysteries of Ghost Pokemon.
[A shiny Haunter drifts into frame holding a book. It's wearing a little fez and looking very smart. It hands BJ the book. He flips it open until he finds the page he's looking for.]
Ah, yes. Ghost Pokemon. Possibly the most mysterious of all Pokemon, for you see they are ghosts. A ghost is, if you are unfamiliar, the remnant of a dead person. Or dead Pokemon in this case. Gastly hatch from eggs, so we must ask...were they another Pokemon in a previous life? Or are they simply...born dead. That would be, how they say, pretty fucked up.
Sir! Sir, you can't sit in those, those are for display only.
[Beetlejuice snaps the book shut and whips around to spot the angry furniture store clerk approaching him.]
Alas, we must ponder until next time...SCATTER, BOYS!
[Beetlejuice and his Pokemon flee the scene. The 'Gear is left running.]
